Focus on Wikis and blogs at online information conference 2005.

This years Online Information Conference (29 November--1 December 2005, Olympia, London) will dedicate an entire day to examining blogs, wikis See wiki.  and RSS (Really Simple Syndication) A syndication format that was developed by Netscape in 1999 and became very popular for aggregating updates to blogs and the news sites. RSS has also stood for "Rich Site Summary" and "RDF Site Summary.  with contributions from some of the leading experts from around the world including Jimmy Wales, the Founder of Wikipedia.

The dedicated track will run on day two of the conference (Wednesday 30 November), and will be split into four focus areas: the evolution of wikis; wikis and blogs in corporate and academic institutions; content syndication--supply and demand; and monitoring and mining the blogosphere The total universe of blogs. Jimmy Wales, President of the Wikimelia Foundation, Inc, USA, will open the programme with a keynote address focusing on his creation Wikipedia, and the future of the web community.

"There has been an explosion of interest in wikis and blogs" comments Katherine Allen, Conference Director for Online Information 2005. "At this year's Online Information conference we will examine the special challenges for information managers wishing to implement wikis and blogs in corporate or academic settings, with an impressive range of international speakers sharing real-life experiences and expert insight."

Highlights from the programme include:

The Online Information Conference runs alongside the established Online Information event, which is now in its 29th year and features an exhibition of around 250 leading vendors.
