Investment fund MatlinPatterson Global Advisers has signed a contract for six A330-200 freighters, the wings for which will be made at Broughton, near Chester. Airbus said the deal, announced yesterday, was evidence of strong demand in the freighter sector of the aircraft market. MatlinPatterson intends the aircraft to be used by certain of its airline companies. The contract brings deals for the recently launched A330-200F to 72 firm orders from eight customers. It is not yet clear whether the planes for MatlinPatterson will be assembled as·sem·ble v. as·sem·bled, as·sem·bling, as·sem·bles v.tr. 1.
