International Data Corp. estimates that by 2003, e-commerce will hit US$8 billion. No surprise then that LATIN TRADE Latin Trade is a monthly magazine covering global business in Latin America and the Caribbean. Similar to Forbes and Fortune Magazine in coverage, the magazine was founded in 1993 and now publishes 87,000 copies 1 each month in Spanish, Portuguese, and English.  is catching web fever too.

The Connection section now offers six pages of technology coverage each issue. LATINTRADE.COM (1) (Computer Output Microfilm) Creating microfilm or microfiche from the computer. A COM machine receives print-image output from the computer either online or via tape or disk and creates a film image of each page.  is also expanding the existing bilingual business portal to provide e-commerce opportunities, interactive tools and information for corporate users in Latin America. To lead this venture, we've tapped a new corporate recruit, Sue Tremblay.

Sue is about as close as you can get to an Internet veteran, having cut her virtual teeth at Knight Ridder's The Miami Herald Online and El Nuevo Herald El Nuevo Herald is a McClatchy newspaper published daily in Spanish in Miami, Florida, in the United States. The Herald's sister paper is The Miami Herald, also produced by the McClatchy Company.  Online. "Some of us are less new than others at the Internet and taking on Latin America will certainly be a great new challenge," Sue says.
