ATA (American Trans Air, Inc. Nasdaq:AMTR) today announced special sale fares for that great summer getaway. These fares are available today until midnight E.S.T. on Monday, June 17, 2002, for travel through August 31, 2002(a) (except to and from Toledo, Ohio for travel beginning June 28, 2002, to and from Flint, Mich. for travel beginning July 1, 2002, and to and from Charlotte, N.C. for travel beginning July 18, 2002), with both off-peak and peak fares available. And, as an added bonus, customers who book online at ATA.Com will save an additional $10 per round-trip, per person, on these sale fares.

Fares are for both off-peak and peak travel, each way based on a round-trip purchase. Listed below are a few examples of each of the fares available:

on each flight segment of your itinerary. A flight segment is

defined as a takeoff and a landing. These sale fares are valid for

travel through 8/31/02 (except during blackout dates 6/29-7/7/02;

travel to and from Toledo, Ohio begins June 28, 2002, travel to

and from Flint, Mich. begins July 1, 2002, and travel to and from

Charlotte, N.C. begins July 18, 2002). Tickets must be purchased

by 6/17/02, midnight (EST). Off peak travel days are defined as:

Travel East or West Tues/Wed/Sat; to Florida Mon through Thurs;

from Florida Tues through Fri; Guadalajara Mon through Thurs.

Fares are each way based on round-trip purchase. These sale fares

are non-refundable and subject to change without notice. Seats are

limited and may not be available on all flights and dates. Not all

destinations are served on a daily basis. Some flights are

provided by Chicago Express Airlines, Inc., doing business as ATA

Connection. Customers booking via ata.com receive $10 discount per

round-trip, per person. A passenger facility charge of up to $18

per round-trip is not included in the fares. Fares do not include

a September 11th security fee of up to $10 per round-trip.

Additional government fees of up to $49 to Grand Cayman and $55 to

Guadalajara per round trip are not included in the fares. A photo

I.D. is required for flight check-in, and proper documentation is
