9136 and Viton VTX 9148 bisphenol-curable fluoroelastomers have been introduced. Typical low-temperature, peroxide-curable fluoropolymers are said to offer functional advantages, but manufacturers suffer from processing inefficiencies caused by scorch, mold mold, name for certain multicellular organisms of the various classes of the kingdom Fungi, characteristically having bodies composed of a cottony mycelium. The colors of molds are caused by the spores, which are borne on the mycelium.  fouling or poor demolding, according to according to

the company. The bisphenol-cure technology developed is said to allow manufacturers to gain processing advantages with reduced scorch and low mold fouling. In addition to processing efficiencies, these developmental polymers are said to have physical properties similar to the leading low-temperature fluoroelastomers, Viton GFLT and Viton GLT GLT Gestion Logistique et Transport (French)

fluoroelastomers. Their low-temperture flexibility (TR-10) is about 2 to 3 [degrees] C higher than both Viton GLT and Viton GFLT, according to the company. In a test for low temperature sealing functionality, VTX 9136 exhibited low-temperature sealing integrity to -40 [degrees] C. The fluids resistance of VTX 9136 is said to be similar to Viton GLT, while VTX 9148 exhibited enhanced fluids resistance comparable to Viton GFLT. Both are said to demonstrate superior heat aging characteristics. (DuPont Dow (Direct OverWrite) See magneto-optic disk.  Elastomers)
