FlossPlus Becomes Latest Walgreens Dental Product; Nation's Largest Drug Chain to Merchandise New Sonic Flosser.

JOLIET, Ill.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--June 6, 1995--NeoSonics Corp. of Joliet, Ill., today announced an agreement with Walgreens to market the company's FlossPlus SONIC flosser. Walgreens, headquartered in Deerfield, Ill., is the first major retailer to offer the product in major markets. Four cities, including Chicago, Phoenix, Milwaukee, and Madison will begin selling the product immediately.

First introduced in late 1994, FlossPlus has enjoyed continual sales growth. Until now the product has been sold on a direct basis, through national catalogs, dentist offices, and retail specialty stores. ``Everything we have done has been getting us ready for this moment.'' says Carl Melville, NeoSonics president, ``FlossPlus is a popularly priced consumer item that was designed for the retail shelf. The missing component has been market access. We pursued Walgreens because of their proven leadership role at introducing new products and categories.''

``Walgreens has earned a reputation of retail innovation in dental electric appliances.'' says Charles Walgreen, Dental Products Buyer, ``FlossPlus continues that innovation. It represents an entirely new product that we feel our customers are looking for. It fills a need that, until now, has gone unmet.''

Walgreens will merchandise the FlossPlus within the dental section. High visibility clamshell packaging and retail displays will complete the in-store merchandising. A combination of television, radio and print advertising will be used in conjunction with circular and promotional support.

The FlossPlus SONIC flosser is the first ADA accepted and clinically proven device of its kind. By combining SONIC vibrations with actual dental floss, FlossPlus creates a new flossing experience that many people find easy and enjoyable. Because it's portable it can be used anywhere. FlossPlus is handheld, battery operated, and designed to make flossing as easy as brushing. It is American made and backed with a satisfaction guarantee. The product MSRP is $29.95.
