Florida teacher receives Syngenta Award. (FYI News & Notes).
Syngenta Corp. honored Jodi Geiger with its first Advocate for
Agricultural Education Agricultural education is instruction about crop production, livestock management, soil and water conservation, and various other aspects of agriculture. Agricultural education includes instruction in food education, such as nutrition. Award. Geiger teaches agricultural science Agricultural science is a broad multidisciplinary field that encompasses the parts of exact, natural, economic and social sciences that are used in the practice and understanding of agriculture. (Veterinary science, but not animal science, is often excluded from the definition. at
Pine Ridge High School Pine Ridge High School is a high school located in Deltona, Florida. It was built in 1994 and is located at 926 Howland Blvd, near S.R. 415. The current principal of the school is Mr. Tom Russell. in Deltona, Fla., and was recognized for her work
in creating an Agriscience Communication and Technology Academy at the
school. As part of the award, Syngenta has provided Geiger with a trip
to Basel, Switzerland. She will then work with the company throughout
the year to focus attention on the growing need for more students and
teachers in the field of agriculture. Syngenta has also provided the
National FFA FFA free fatty acids. Organization with funding to develop a program to recruit,
retain and reward agriculture teachers through workshops, training
materials and a public awareness effort.
