) announced that the Florida University Alliance, which includes the University of Florida University of Florida is the third-largest university in the United States, with 50,912 students (as of Fall 2006) and has the eighth-largest budget (nearly $1.9 billion per year). ), has selected PeopleSoft's industry-leading enterprise solution suite in the third quarter of 2002. The Florida University Alliance licensed PeopleSoft applications including Customer Relationship Management, Supplier Relationship Management, Student Administration, Human Capital Management, Financial Management Solutions and AppConnect. Supporting more than 88,000 students, faculty and staff, the enterprise solution will integrate student and administrative operations across each campus.

"During an extensive evaluation of well known business application vendors, the universities collaborated to identify a real-time enterprise solution that met all their needs," said Al Enzweiler, project manager for the Florida University Alliance. "The Alliance selected PeopleSoft's application suite for its exceptional architecture and integration capabilities. The solutions bring the promise of unprecedented information access and increased efficiencies to the Florida institutions."

The PeopleSoft solution will enable the integration of campus-wide financial and operational data at each university, providing managers with the tools needed to make informed financial decisions more rapidly. Research grants play a fundamental role in funding critical programs at these state institutions. PeopleSoft Grants, a key component of the Financial Management Solution, will help Alliance members manage the complete life cycle of sponsored research online. As a result, users will be able to more efficiently develop and track grant proposals and budgets.

Alliance members will also deploy PeopleSoft Supplier Relationship Management applications to manage the schools' procurement of goods and services In economics, economic output is divided into physical goods and intangible services.  user access, connect business processes and consolidate data across PeopleSoft and existing lines of business applications. PeopleSoft's pre-integrated Enterprise Portal See corporate portal. , Integration Broker and Enterprise Warehouse solutions will simplify the integration process, enabling the Florida University Alliance to achieve results faster and at a lower cost.
