Florida State affiliate celebrates 75 years.

MTNA Executive Director Gary Ingle was on hand, as the Florida State MTA celebrated its 75th anniversary at the annual FSMTA Conference, held June 10-13, in Tallahassee.

Ingle presented FSMTA with a plaque recognizing the anniversary. In addition, he provided the keynote address for the conference and held a question and answer session.

FSMTA provides musical support for more than 900 music teachers and their students and has 23 local affiliates.

Founded in 1934, Mrs. M.B. Byrd was elected president of the newly formed organization. FSMTA affiliated with MTNA in 1953.

Each year the national association recognizes state MTAs that achieve 50, 75 and 100 years of affiliation with MTNA.
