agency member Broward Broward could refer to:
  • Broward County, Florida
  • Napoleon Bonaparte Broward, the Florida governor after which the county is named.
County, Fla., was facing financial difficulties in the building of Central Broward Regional Park as costs unexpectedly grew to more than $120 million. But with its many proposed amenities, county officials thought about the value of the park's large potential clientele. That's when officials decided to consider selling advertising in the park.

Two potential advertisers are already interested--Air Jamaica Jamaica (jəmā`kə), independent state within the Commonwealth (2005 est. pop. 2,732,000), 4,232 sq mi (10,962 sq km), coextensive with the island of Jamaica, West Indies, S of Cuba and W of Haiti.  and Demerara Demerara (dĕmərâr`ə), river, c.200 mi (320 km) long, rising in the Guiana Highlands, E Guyana, and flowing N to the Atlantic Ocean. Georgetown, Guyana's chief port, is at the river's mouth.  Distillers Limited are both willing to shell out big bucks to place their names on prominent locations in the park. Air Jamaica is particularly interested in the park's cricket stadium. And the distillery is under serious consideration although the county will have to determine whether alcohol can be advertised in the park.

But the county's creativity hasn't stopped there. The 80-foot clock tower that will be built at the entrance to the park may contain a cell phone tower leased to phone companies. The scoreboard and other naming rights Naming rights are the right to name a piece of property, either tangible property or an event, usually granted in exchange for financial considerations. Institutions like schools, places of worship and hospitals have a tradition of granting donors the right to name facilities in  are also under consideration.
