CCTV closed-circuit television
 cameras are to be used in a bid to prevent a repeat of recent flooding.

The cameras will be used to study culverts that flooded leading to homes in the Nant y Fedw area of Abercynon, in the Cynon Valley Cynon Valley is an ex-mining area and near Rhondda, Wales. From 1974 to 1996 the area was one of the districts of Wales, formed from the Aberdare and Mountain Ash urban districts, and part of Neath Rural District, along with the parish of Penderyn from Brecknockshire. , being ruined by water and mud after heavy rains in September.

Councillor Anthony Christopher, the council's deputy leader and cabinet member for frontline services, said: "Once our investigations are complete on the number of properties affected, we will determine what we can do to reduce the chances of it happening again."
