Flooding in hand; Your Say.WITH regard to flooding to the rear of houses in Stanhope stan·hope n. A light, open, horse-drawn carriage with one seat and two or four wheels. [After the Reverend Fitzroy Stanhope (1787-1864), British clergyman.] Noun 1. Gardens (part of Beechwood Noun 1. beechwood - wood of any of various beech trees; used for flooring and containers and plywood and tool handles beech beech, beech tree - any of several large deciduous trees with rounded spreading crowns and smooth grey bark and small sweet edible Ward), correspondent JM (Not Down The Drain, 11.09.09) suggests that the Environment Agency is best placed to provide answers and that the two new builds in close proximity to the houses could be responsible for the flooding. In fact, a meeting was held between residents, environment agency staff, an officer from Middlesbrough Middlesbrough Town and unitary authority (pop., 2001: 134,487), geographic county of North Yorkshire, historic county of Yorkshire, England. Situated on the southern bank of the River Tees, it was formed in 1830 with the arrival of the railway to the site of a new Borough Council, Cllr Coppinger and myself some time ago and a further meeting is planned soon. The question of the new builds on land where rainwater previously was absorbed and where that water now flows most certainly came under discussion. I can assure JM that the residents of Stanhope Gardens have this well in hand and all power to their elbow. JOAN McTIGUE, Beechwood Ward |
