At the conclusion of this phase in the program, in the Spring 1997, Raytheon Aircraft Company will select a single subcontractor to provide the entire GBTS products and support. Raytheon Aircraft's Beech/Pilatus PC-9 MkII aircraft was selected by a joint U.S. Air Force and Navy panel in June 1995. If the contract is fully implemented, 711 aircraft will be built by the year 2017.
