It also provides air services in coordination with the other military branches. U.S. contract modification to upgrade the visual systems on seven C-5 full flight simulators, which the company operates for the Air Force Air Mobility Command. The modification to an existing Air Force contract is valued at $52 million. FlightSafety Services Corp. is a wholly-owned subsidiary of FlightSafety International FlightSafety International is the a provider of professional aviation training, simulation equipment and software. It is a wholly owned subsidiary of Berkshire Hathaway NYSE: BRKA NYSE: BRKB Divisions The upgrades, to be accomplished over the next three years, will consist of an articulated platform supporting a new FlightSafety VITAL MultiView display system, with a 225 degree field-of-view, driven by a new technology image generator. In addition, a larger motion system will be installed on the simulators to accommodate the additional weight of these modifications. A Data Base Generation System (DBGS DBGS Data Base Generation System ) will be procured to develop custom airfield or mission practice area data bases for enhanced flightcrew training. When completed, the modifications will give the Air Mobility Command and their Air Reserve Components the capability to train their C-5 aircrews with the most advanced technology achievable in flight simulation. The new system will permit realistic inflight training exercises such as full-contact aerial refueling Aerial refueling, also called Air refueling or in-flight refueling (IFR) or air-to-air refueling (AAR) or (in the UK) tanking.
