Flexible bead-apex line automates car tire assembly.

An automatic bead-apex line assembles up to 10,000 high quality apexed beads per day. One operator supervises two of these systems. The main function of the operator is to monitor the process, to arrange for the required materials (beads, rubber, separations foils) and to move the finished bead-apex assemblies.

The design of this automatic bead-apex line is said to meet all requirements regarding ergonomics ergonomics, the engineering science concerned with the physical and psychological relationship between machines and the people who use them. The ergonomicist takes an empirical approach to the study of human-machine interactions. , flexibility and quality, while the overall efficiency of the system is said to be very high. The modular design In the context of systems engineering, modular design — or "modularity in design" — is an approach aiming to subdivide a system into smaller parts (modules) that can be independently created and then used in different systems to drive multiple functionalities.  of the system is said to cover a wide range of market requirements.
