Fletcher Thompson completes addition to Fairfield College.

Thompson was born in College Park in Fulton County, Georgia.

It is an all male school of about 900 students. It was first founded by the Society of Jesus in 1942. .

 and a new lobby. The addition connects the school's two original buildings and offers students protection from the elements, since they previously had to cross an open quad to travel from building to building.

The addition of Pedro Arrupe Hall completes the expansion of the Prep campus, which has included a renovation of the two existing classroom buildings and the construction of a new practice gym and locker room facility.

Fr. Michael Boughton, SJ, president of Fairfield College Preparatory School, noted that "the dedication of this beautiful addition to the Prep campus marks the conclusion of a dynamic process of collaboration between Fletcher Thompson, Gilbane Construction and the educational programs and Jesuit mission of this school. We are a very vibrant academic community, with a rich tradition and all the daily energy of 900 adolescent males. These companies took our needs and our religious vision seriously and we are proud of and blessed by the result."

There was a ribbon-cutting and dedication ceremony on September 25 to officially open the new addition. Fletcher Thompson designed the school's two original buildings, completed in 1949.
