This product family now offers a new series of low-smoke, nonhalogen additives specifically designed to flame retard plastics such as polypropylene, polyethylene (LDPE, HDPE, and crosslinked), and polyurethanes. The basic Phos-Chek flame retardants can be used to flame retard adhesives, textiles, and building materials (e.g., wall coverings, ceiling tiles, roofing products, and chip board).

Company also offers Tetrathal, tetrachlorophthalic anhydride, a reportedly versatile, permanent, low-cost flame retardant for polyester resins used in construction, transportation, and chemical and food preparation equipment. Tetrathal also is used in the production of various organic pigments.

. Product is said to provide UL 94V-O and nonsmoking and nontoxic properties. Available in powder form, the system does not contain halogens or metallic compounds. Typical application is in PP. With higher loading levels, the system can be used in ethylene-propylene copolymers, PE, PS, and polybutylene. Mechanical and physical properties of the base polymer are said to be unaffected because of the low loadings required.
