Five-nines reliability in the harshest of conditions. (Top Technology Showcase).

Industrial PC solutions provider and system integrator Arista arista (ä·riˑ·st  has rolled out its new, rugged Power Racer 4120, an industrial-grade server that provides scalability for virtually any mission-critical CTI (Computer Telephone Integration) Combining data with voice systems in order to enhance telephone services. For example, automatic number identification (ANI) allows a caller's records to be retrieved from the database while the call is routed to the appropriate party.  or networking application. Applications include automatic call devices, call center servers, wide area and local area network servers, virtual private networks, voice-over-internet protocol (VoIP), and video-on-demand servers.

The Power Racer 4120 is available as a COTS product or built-to-spec complete with pre-loaded software for various server applications. Arista configures each server with either Intel Pentium II or Pentium P4 CPUs, four hot-swappable SCA (Single Connector Attachment) An 80-pin plug and socket used to connect peripherals. With a SCSI drive, it rolls three cables (power, data channel and ID configuration) into one connector for fast installation and removal.  hard drive trays, third-party add-in boards and the specific computer telephony applications. Supported operating systems include Windows NT, Windows 2000, Windows 95/98, Linux and Sun Solaris. Custom configurations with pre-loaded applications and operating software are also available.

In order to ensure five-nines reliability, the Power Racer features 2+1 450W, load-sharing, redundant power supplies. The load is automatically balanced to ensure that each of three power supplies runs at cooler temperatures to extend life span and maximum reliability. The complete power load is automatically transferred to two of the supplies if one fails. The supplies themselves are hot-swappable and can be changed in less than a minute. The Power Racer meets ETA RS-130C production standards, is CE compliant, and built-to-run in harsh environments, from 32 to 122 degrees Fahrenheit at 20-90% humidity.

, the Power Racer 4120 provides audible alarm notification to alert the operator of segregating operational conditions and enables them to diagnose problems and remedy the condition. Front panel indicators include the status of chassis fans, temperature, and power supplies. Also available on the Power Racer chassis is the remote fan-failure and over-temperature monitor option, which allows monitoring over the Internet.
