The five Logitech products - two computer mice, a PC speaker system, a webcam and a cordless keyboard-and-mouse combination - were named winners in the product design category. Logitech has won 14 Good Design awards in the past four years.

"We are passionate about delivering distinctive designs that exceed our customers' expectations," said Guerrino De Luca Guerrino De Luca is the president and CEO of Logitech, and has been since February 1998.

The Logitech products that received a G-Mark, the symbol of the Good Design Award 2006, are as follows:

The Logitech MX Revolution The Logitech MX Revolution is a wireless, laser mouse manufactured by Logitech and released in 2006. The MX Revolution is the first mouse to feature a free-spinning scroll wheel, which allows continuous scrolling for several seconds with a single user action.

Logitech's most advanced mouse, the Logitech[R] MX[TM] Revolution mouse transforms the experience of finding and manipulating the vast amount of digital content on a person's computer or on the Web. It features hyper-fast scrolling with a revolutionary alloy wheel Alloy wheels are automobile wheels which are made from aluminum or magnesium metal alloy. Alloy wheels differ from normal steel wheels, because of their lighter weight, which improves performance.  - the MicroGear[TM] Precision Scroll Wheel - that can spin freely for up to seven seconds, spanning hundreds of pages with a single flick of the finger. A thumb wheel provides control of zooming or application switching, while an innovative One-Touch[TM] Search feature allows people to select a word or phrase on a Web page or in a document and, with a single click, view Internet search results on that subject. And its ergonomic design, with sculpted sculpt

"The first moment the user touches this product, the benefit and advantage of it are understood," the Good Design Jury commented. "Logitech's commitment to ergonomics ergonomics, the engineering science concerned with the physical and psychological relationship between machines and the people who use them. The ergonomicist takes an empirical approach to the study of human-machine interactions.  and the careful shaping of the mouse resulted in a comfortable design and the most practical placement of buttons."

The Logitech VX Revolution The Logitech VX Revolution is a wireless, laser, notebook mouse manufactured by Logitech and released in 2006. The VX Revolution is the first mouse to feature a free-spinning scroll wheel, which allows continuous scrolling for several seconds with a single user action.

Designed for notebook PC users who want the very best in a mouse, the Logitech[R] VX Revolution[TM] mouse balances portability and comfort. It is smaller in size than its sibling MX Revolution mouse and includes a slot to store the 2.4 GHz micro-receiver, making it more portable. It also features hyper-fast scrolling with the MicroGear[TM] Precision Scroll Wheel. And its ergonomic design, rubber-lined thumb and pinky grips, and slightly concave Concave

"Only Logitech, which has been dedicated to mouse development for a long time with a commitment to ergonomics, could have delivered such a high-level product," the Good Design jury reported. "It offers a natural fit for many hand sizes without creating stress on the hand, even after long hours of use. The way it controls scrolling is developed so intelligently."

The Logitech Z-10 Interactive 2.0 Speakers

The Logitech Z-10 Interactive 2.0 Speakers feature a groundbreaking design that changes how people think about and use PC speakers. With built-in touch-sensitive controls and a backlighted display that shows digital-music track information, a clock, volume and more, these innovative speakers are meant to be touched, seen and heard. The speaker satellites' polished acrylic faces offer clean, minimalist facades accented by the digital display and each speaker's two metal mesh grills. Perfect for use with either a desktop or notebook PC, the powerful speakers deliver rich audio without using a separate space-consuming subwoofer A speaker that reproduces the lower end of the audio spectrum. A subwoofer system may include a crossover circuit which switches frequencies at approximately 100Hz and under to the subwoofer, while passing the rest of the signal to the main speakers. . By putting touch-sensitive controls on the face of the Z-10 speakers, Logitech has eliminated the need for people to toggle To alternate back and forth between two states.

toggle - To change a bit from whatever state it is in to the other state; to change from 1 to 0 or from 0 to 1. This comes from "toggle switches", such as standard light switches, though the word "toggle" actually refers to

"These speakers offer a striking design with the contrast of their black glossy surface, silver accents and the soft orange colors of the LCD panel Also called a "projection panel," it is a data projector that accepts computer output and displays it on a see-through liquid crystal screen that is placed on top of an overhead projector. See data projector. ," the Good Design jury commented. "These speakers received a Good Design award because they are compact in size but the design delivers great impact."

The Logitech QuickCam Ultra Vision

The QuickCam[R] Ultra Vision[TM] webcam offers a true-to-life video calling experience by delivering twice the image clarity as that offered by typical webcams. It combines an extra-large, precision-engineered, five-element glass lens with a low f-stop setting, increasing the amount of light entering the webcam and precisely focusing that light to create sharp, vivid images. The QuickCam Ultra Vision webcam also features the new Logitech[R] RightLight[TM] 2 Technology, which intelligently adapts the camera's video settings based on the environment in which the camera is used. The stunning webcam design incorporates the most premium materials Logitech has ever assembled into a webcam. In addition to the glass lens, chrome details draw attention to the webcam's built-in microphone, lens housing and the edges of the cylinder-shaped webcam. The webcam also comes with Logitech[R] Video Effects See digital video effects.  software, which allows people to transform themselves into three-dimensional animated characters or wear animated accessories as they communicate using their webcam over the Internet.

The Good Design jury stated, "The Ultra Vision webcam offers a well-balanced design that clips easily atop a computer screen. The companion Video Effects software works extremely well, and allows people to experience a new way of communicating."

The Logitech Cordless Desktop MX 3200 Laser

The Logitech[R] Cordless Desktop[R] MX[TM] 3200 Laser mouse-and-keyboard combination delivers when efficiency matters most. The keyboard's dynamic search/zoom panel makes navigating digital content and finding information simple. Innovative One-Touch[TM] search buttons can be used to search for key words, phrases, or file names on the Web, or on a computer. A touch-sensitive slider allows people to scroll up and down or zoom in and out of a document, Web page, or photo. The keyboard also offers one-touch access to Internet calling See Internet telephony.  with its dedicated communications panel. A media panel, including a digital display, makes controlling and navigating digital music easy. Both the laser mouse and keyboard are designed with comfort in mind. The mouse has gently contoured sides and soft rubber grips that offer enhanced support and comfort, and the keyboard includes an integrated soft-touch palm rest, which can help reduce fatigue.

"When they first touch the mouse and keyboard, users will realize that the organic shapes and details of the MX 3200 were designed with great care, even the bottom of the mouse," the Good Design jury commented.
