Join Fast-Growing Startup, John Curran to Serve as Advisor

Fitplay, a startup company developing an Internet fitness lifestyle management service, has announced the appointment of two senior-level managers. It also announced that John Curran, an industry authority on the Internet, would serve as Advisor to the company. Matt Harris joins as VP of Engineering, Julia Hartman as VP of Marketing. These management additions fill key positions at this fast-growing startup, which is funded by in part 100x, an Internet Startup Accelerator. Fitplay continues to staff up as it drives towards a fourth quarter launch of its premier offering, Fitplay.com.

Matt Harris will oversee the Engineering team at Fitplay, which is developing the technology engine that will run the Fitplay.com offering. He formerly held a director-level position at Reed Elsevier, a leading provider of legal and business publications. At Reed Elsevier, he was responsible for the group of engineers that delivered strategic information to Cahner's portals, utilizing leading-edge technology. He also led development teams at CADRE Technologies. Harris holds a Masters in Electrical Engineering from the University of Rochester The University of Rochester (UR) is a private, coeducational and nonsectarian research university located in Rochester, New York. The university is one of 62 elected members of the Association of American Universities.  and a Bachelors in Mechanical Engineering from Northeastern University.

Julia Hartman will handle all Marketing activities for Fitplay. She has 15 years of marketing and sales experience, most recently with Individual.com as director of Internet and Database Marketing. While at Individual.com, she was responsible for online advertising, affiliate marketing, online site analysis systems, online customer newsletters, and hybrid online/offline database marketing campaigns. Prior marketing roles were held at Citibank, Cigna, Equifax, Clarita, and Advo. Hartman holds an MBA MBA
