Fitech Laboratories Inc. Announces University Relationship Program.

SAN FRANCISCO San Francisco (săn frănsĭs`kō), city (1990 pop. 723,959), coextensive with San Francisco co., W Calif., on the tip of a peninsula between the Pacific Ocean and San Francisco Bay, which are connected by the strait known as the Golden  -- Fitech Laboratories Inc. announced today the creation of the Fitech Laboratories University Relationship Program. The program is designed to facilitate research projects that can benefit from the computing computing - computer  power of using a computational grid and is now accepting applications from Universities worldwide.

In order to qualify prospective research projects should meet the following two criteria:

--The proposed project must either directly concern research in distributed computing (1) The use of multiple computers networked throughout a wide geographical area, or the world via the Internet, in order to solve a single problem. See grid computing.

(2) The use of multiple computers in an enterprise rather than one centralized system.
, or must possess significant computational requirements that are suited to running on a computational grid.

--At the conclusion of the research project the results should be published, with acknowledgement of xTier(TM)/GRID and Fitech Laboratories' participation

Fitech Laboratories will supply qualified projects with a number of free academic licenses of xTier(TM)/GRID and in certain cases, Fitech Laboratories will provide additional project support by providing xTier(TM)/GRID training and consulting. Fitech Laboratories can also help qualified projects to obtain financial assistance from participating non-profit funds. For further program information please see: http://www.fitechlabs.com/academic_research.jsp.

All inquiries regarding the University Relationship Program should be directed to:

xTier(TM)/GRID

The xTier(TM)/GRID provides a simple yet robust implementation for Enterprise Computational Grid (ECG ECG electrocardiogram.

) applications and defines the software infrastructure for developing Near Real Time (nRT) ECG applications. xTier(TM)/GRID is best suited to solving computationally intensive tasks by splitting such tasks into multiple sub-tasks, executing each sub-task on a dedicated grid node in parallel and then aggregating the results to achieve a final result.

The main features of the xTier(TM)/GRID service include:

--Designed to solve enterprise computationally intensive problems.

--Near Real-Time (nRT) support additionally to traditional long-running jobs.

--Direct support for task splitting, topology topology, branch of mathematics, formerly known as analysis situs, that studies patterns of geometric figures involving position and relative position without regard to size.  management, result aggregation and failover Invoking a secondary system to take over when the primary system fails. Up-to-date copies of all required data and applications are maintained on the secondary system in order to respond immediately if the primary system becomes unusable. Also called "fallover." See replication. .
