NEW YORK--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Jan. 23, 2002

Fitch fitch: see polecat. , the international rating agency, is withdrawing its ratings on Chicago, IL-based Corus Bankshares Corus Bankshares, Inc. operates as the holding company for Corus Bank, N.A. that offers consumer and corporate banking products and services. The bank's deposit products include checking, savings, money market, and time deposit accounts. , Inc. and its banking subsidiary. The ratings are being withdrawn at the request of Corus Bankshares' management and do not reflect any adverse financial factors or the emergence of any negative rating issues. Fitch will not perform any ongoing surveillance of Corus Bankshares. The withdrawn ratings are summarized below:
