 upgrades the outstanding classes B, C and D notes and affirms the class A notes of the Capital Auto Receivables Asset Trust (CARAT) 2006-1 asset-backed notes transaction as listed below:

--2006-1 class A affirmed at 'AAA';

--2006-1 class B upgraded to 'AA' from 'A';

--2006-1 class C upgraded to 'A' from 'BBB';

--2006-1 class D upgraded to 'BBB' from 'BB'.

The rating upgrade is a result of increased available credit enhancement Credit Enhancement
