Fitch Ratings: Hospital's Weather Hurricane Frances and Charley.

Fitch contacted all its 18 rated hospitals in the state. The Adventist Health System rehab facility in Ormond Beach (Oceanside) sustained the heaviest damage and is uninhabitable at this time.  in Port Charlotte did sustain some damage but is currently operational. Cost estimates for the damages have not been determined at this time. All of the other hospitals rated by Fitch sustained little to no damage, with some hospitals reporting minor water leaks and minor physical damage to roofs.

Many of the hospitals are assessing the financial impact of any damage and are planning to post information on their web sites. Insurance claims for those affected are being evaluated at this time. Fitch does not anticipate any rating actions as a result of the hurricanes.
