 has assigned an 'A' rating to National Bank of Canada's C$500 million series 4 medium-term notes (subordinated debt Subordinated Debt

). The 15-year issue carries a Nov. 2, 2020 maturity date. Interest on the series 4 medium-term notes will be paid semi-annually at 4.70% per annum until Nov. 2, 2015 and thereafter will be equal to the 90-day Bankers' Acceptance Rate plus 1% and will be payable quarterly. Proceeds from the issue will be used for general corporate purposes. All the other ratings of the bank remain unchanged.
