 the report, in the past year Fitch Ratings assigned ratings to 10 prepay credits aggregating more than $7 billion with several others expected to come to market over the next few months. In structuring current transactions, prepay participants choose from a growing menu of alternatives that best suit their collective needs. Each transaction generally appears the same, but upon closer scrutiny, they have several variations, some of which have credit implications or are important consideration for investors.

This report is a follow-up to Fitch's initial publication on prepay transactions published on November 15, 2006 entitled 'Prepay Commodity Transactions' which provided substantial details on the background and working structure of prepay transactions, structural factors that determine credit risk allocation and the credit effect on utilities.
