First-Ever Architectural Festival Comes to LA.


LOS ANGELES Los Angeles (lôs ăn`jələs, lŏs, ăn`jəlēz'), city (1990 pop. 3,485,398), seat of Los Angeles co., S Calif.; inc. 1850.  -- "ArchiFest," a new architectural festival celebrating Los Angeles' rich and varied architecture, will be in full force during October 2005. The festival, which began in March 2005 and continues through January 2006, is concentrated in what the LA City Council has declared Architecture Month, with panel discussions, exhibits, tours and other events.

The Frank Lloyd Wright Building Conservancy The Frank Lloyd Wright Building Conservancy is an organization devoted to the historic preservation of buildings designed by Frank Lloyd Wright, as well as to the study of Wright's seven-decade career.  partnered with the Los Angeles Cultural Affairs Department, as well as many of LA's museums, galleries, heritage and historical societies, and other organizations to produce the citywide festival. Among the events are an exhibit of Japanese woodblock wood·block

Admission to events varies, depending on the venue, and some are free.

The festival takes place in conjunction with the annual Frank Lloyd Wright Building Conservancy Conference, which meets in Los Angeles Oct. 19-23.
