First vocational training course for IDPs of Malakand division completed.ISLAMABAD, July 01, 2009 (Balochistan Times) -- Under the arrangements of National Vocational and Technical Education Commission (NAVTEC), a batch of 120 youth of Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) of Malakand Division Malakand Division was an administrative division of the North-West Frontier Province of Pakistan, until the reforms of 2000 abolished the third tier of government. NWFP Northwest Forest Plan NWFP Non-Wood Forest Product had diverted its mobile training units to three IDP camps, located at Shah Mansoor (District Swabi), Sheikh sheikh or shaykh Among Arabic-speaking tribes, especially Bedouin, the male head of the family, as well as of each successively larger social unit making up the tribal structure. The sheikh is generally assisted by an informal tribal council of male elders. Shahzad (Distt. Mardan) and Jalozai (Nowshera Distt.). This batch completed training in three most useful trades - Automotive Mechanic, Welding Sheet Metal and Light Engineering aimed at imparting them vocational training and engage them in healthy and constructive activities. In a message on the occasion, the Chairman, NAVTEC, Adnan A. Khawaja congratulated the pass outs and hoped that they will make best use of the training, received in the camps. He assured them that NAVTEC will make all possible efforts to suitably absorb them in various industrial concerns and enable them to earn decent livelihood. While distributing the certificates among the successful participants of the course at Shah Mansoor, Sheikh Shahzad and Jalozai camps, Regional Director, NAVTEC, Sultan Hanif Orakzai, also paid them stipend amounting to Rs. 2000 each. Besides, NAVTEC in collaboration with Pakistan Red Crescent Society Pakistan Red Crescent Society was founded in 1947 after it got independence by an order called ‘The Pakistan Red Cross Order’ .Later it was renamed Red Crescent Society.It has its headquarters in Islamabad. , has started 2-day First Aid course at all IDP Camps and various other areas including schools, hostels etc. at which these persons were currently residing. Through these courses, IDPs will be imparted training of providing on-the-spot first aid to the people as and when required.
