ACCN Alternate Critical Communications Network
ACCN Access Notes
 (p. 8-9). I congratulate McMaster on their achievement, but would like to point out that theirs is not 'Canada's first undergraduate program in chemical biology.'

In fact, our institution, Thompson Rivers University Thompson Rivers University has its main campus in Kamloops, British Columbia, Canada and a second campus in Williams Lake, BC. TRU was formally inaugurated April 1st, 2005 and is the result of the merger of the University College of the Cariboo and British Columbia Open University.  (formerly University College of the Cariboo), established a chemical biology major degree in 2001 within our BSc program. We produced our first chemical biology graduate in 2002 and as of this June, we will have produced 90 graduates with a BSc in chemical biology.

As the article noted, the interdisciplinary nature of such a program challenges students to solve complex problems and we have found that our graduates have reaped the benefits of the program's rigour rig·our
