USI will place a team of employees on-site in First Union's Charlotte, NC headquarters and Philadelphia, PA office to improve the efficiency and cost effectiveness of the real estate occupied by First Union branches, offices and customer service centers. First Union National Bank utilizes a portfolio of more than 40 million square feet in 3,300 sites.

USI will provide infrastructure management services for First Union including portfolio and asset strategy, acquisition and disposition, and lease and tenant data management. In addition, USI will select and manage the providers of tactical execution services on behalf of the First Union portfolio. "The opportunity to work with the First Union portfolio to create a best-of-class corporate real estate service delivery model is unique, and we are looking forward to this opportunity," said Andy Goldstrom, USI's Senior Director for the Southeast Region.
