First USA Issues Countrywide Home Loans Visa Card.WILMINGTON, Del.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Jan. 16, 1997--First USA, one of the nation's leading credit card providers, announced it will begin offering a Countrywide Visa card this month. Countrywide Home Loans, Inc., the nation's largest independent mortgage lender and servicer, will offer the card to its current and future mortgagors. Applications for the Countrywide Gold and Platinum Visa cards will be mailed to more than one million Countrywide customers, with subsequent mailings planned for new homeowners. Countrywide and First USA also plan to make the card available to consumers during the home loan process.
