The installation was completed at the co-located Caracas, Venezuela site of television stations Channel 51 (belonging to Caracas Television S.A.) and Channel 39 (belonging to Meridiano TV). Both antennas are side mounted onto the existing tower at the stations' site at Cerro El Avilas in the mountains above Caracas. Their location on El Volcan mountain is 1,350 meters above sea level Meters Above Sea Level is a standard metric measurement of the elevation of a location in reference to mean sea level. Uses

, and the antennas had to be transported to the site by cable car.

The Channel 51 antenna is 10 feet 8 inches (3.25 meters) long, weighs 475 pounds (215.5 kg), and operates in the 692-698 MHz (MegaHertZ) One million cycles per second. It is used to measure the transmission speed of electronic devices, including channels, buses and the computer's internal clock. A one-megahertz clock (1 MHz) means some number of bits (16, 32, 64, etc.  frequency range. The Channel 39 antenna is 11 feet 6 inches (3.5 meters) long, weighs 525 pounds (238 kg), and operates in the 620-626 MHz frequency range.

"The TRASAR antennas replaced panel antennas and are custom designed to give the best possible signal coverage," said Howard Elovitz, Andrew Corporation's manager of international satellite and broadcast communication sales. "The challenge in installing these TRASAR antennas was to be able to produce a perfect signal throughout the area to be covered, no matter how inaccessible the terrain. This was achieved by using four signal-transmitting elements working in conjunction, thus providing excellent cover for all the target area."
