First Security looks to Odyssey Integrated Services for cost control.

SALT LAKE CITY--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Nov. 15, 1996--First Security Corporation (Nasdaq:FSCO) is implementing the Odyssey Integrated Services(SM) program, a Data Documents Incorporated (Nasdaq:DDII) comprehensive forms management system. Odyssey Integrated Services allows customers to develop, produce, store, and track paper and electronic business documents.

First Security enlisted the Program to help control costs. "Cost savings is an important consideration," said R. Douglas Parsons, vice president and manager of Bank Purchasing for First Security. "We expect a reduction in the total number of forms that need to be managed, resulting in additional efficiencies. The cost savings is the driving factor."

In the first year of the Odyssey Integrated Services program, First Security intends to reduce forms purchasing expenses by about 20 percent. The Program provides a variety of techniques to control costs, including inventory management, analysis of forms, and more efficient printing. For example, the Program will centralize the storage of products and shipping into one location, bringing a considerable reduction in freight and administrative costs. The Program also provides detailed analysis of forms to create greater efficiencies.

"Odyssey Integrated Services will allow us to capture significantly more data than we had been able to," Parsons said. "This will help us improve our purchasing behavior and to analyze forms, volumes and runs of printed documents to make that part of our business more economical."

The Odyssey Integrated Services program, introduced in 1995, enables customers to maximize their productivity and cost control by outsourcing various non-strategic functions. Customers may select from as few as one to as many as 10 different service groups, depending on their unique requirements. The modules are: Workflow Re-engineering, Process Analysis, Forms Analysis, Forms Composition, Electronic Transactions, Inventory and Warehouse Management, Billing Detail, Disaster Recovery, Customization and Decision Support Services.

The agreement with First Security includes five service groups and an option for the remaining five.

The Odyssey Integrated Services program is supported by the Odyssey Network(SM), Data Documents' proprietary Microsoft Windows(TM)-based software. The Odyssey Network is designed to accommodate a variety of systems--single P.C.s, Local Area Networks or Wide Area Networks.
