) ("First Nickel") today announced continued encouragement from the Premiere Ridge property (formerly named Bowell property) under option from Falconbridge Limited ("Falconbridge") on the North Range of the Sudbury Basin The Sudbury Basin, also known as Sudbury Structure, is the second largest known impact crater or astrobleme on Earth, and a major geologic structure in Ontario, Canada.

The basin is located on the Canadian Shield in the city of Greater Sudbury, Ontario.
. Assay results have been received for the first 5 holes from the property (FNI-01 was previously reported in press release on Oct. 24, 2005). To date, First Nickel has completed 29 diamond drill holes totalling 6,351 metres. Further assay results are pending.

. Hole FNI-04 intersected 14.70 metres (48.2 ft) of 2.28% Ni and 2.74% Cu within a broader zone of 38.2 metres (125.3 ft) of 1.33% Ni and 2. 26% Cu. This intersection is associated with the transitional sulphide sulphide: see sulfide.  zone previously reported in hole FNI-01, however, appears to be hosted entirely within Sudbury Breccia breccia: see conglomerate.
breccia

Coarse sedimentary rock consisting of angular or nearly angular fragments larger than 0.08 in. (2 mm). Breccia commonly results from processes such as landslides or geologic faulting, in which rocks are fractured.
. The sulphide mineralization is open to the west, towards the property boundary (- 20 metres). This area will be subjected to further definition drilling in the first quarter of 2006. Please refer to table 1 for a summary of the significant drill results (not converted to true width).

Falconbridge had recorded a number of significant nickel-copper drill intersections on the property prior to it being optioned by First Nickel, at the basal contact of the Sudbury Igneous Complex The Sudbury Igneous Complex is a 1844 million year old impact melt sheet in Greater Sudbury, Northern Ontario, Canada. It is part of the Sudbury Basin impact structure, and is classified as a lopolith.   (SIC) (Contact style), transgressing the footwall contact (Transitional Style) and within underlying Sudbury Breccia (Footwall style). Historic holes before BO-72 were completed prior to the implementation of National Instrument 43-101 and cannot be considered NI 43-101 compliant. Table 2 summarizes some of the significant drill intercepts (not converted to true width) reported by Falconbridge prior to 2005:
