Welch's likes PP's lower density and cost per pound versus PET. The PP cap enhances the recyclability of the container.
Pechiney Plastic Bottle Packaging, headquartered in Chicago, molds Welch's PP container using continuous-wheel equipment to achieve high production rates. The PP used is a standard grade with no clarifier. Processing modifications helped improve the bottle's see-through clarity.
