HOLLAND, Mich.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Dec. 9, 1994--Stephen A. Stream was named president and chief operating officer Chief Operating Officer (COO)

The announcement was made today by David M. Ondersma, chairman and chief executive officer following a meeting of the FMB FMB

In naming Stream to the position, Ondersma noted his "...extensive banking background and outstanding record in executive management.''

Stream joined FMB in 1982 as senior vice president responsible for lending and branch administration at FMB-Lumberman's Bank in Muskegon and later became executive vice president and a member of their board of directors. In 1990, he moved to FMB's corporate offices as senior vice president for Corporate Services Activities that combine or consolidate certain enterprise-wide needed support services, provided based on specialized knowledge, best practices, and technology to serve internal (and sometimes external) customers and business partners. . In 1992, he became executive vice president with added responsibilities for corporatewide trust, brokerage, mutual funds and credit life activities. He became senior executive vice president in 1994.

Stream began his banking career at Old Kent Bank in 1962, holding various positions in the branch system and in the commercial lending area before becoming president and CEO (1) (Chief Executive Officer) The highest individual in command of an organization. Typically the president of the company, the CEO reports to the Chairman of the Board.  of one of their affiliate banks, Old Kent Bank of Norton Shores.

A lifelong resident of the area, Stream was born and raised in Kent City, Mich. and now resides in Norton Shores. He is a graduate of Davenport College Davenport College (colloquially often referred to as D'port) is one of the twelve residential colleges of Yale University. Always an active community member, Stream is currently the president of the Muskegon Area Intermediate School Board, on the City of Norton Shores Economic Development Board, and the Board of Goodwill of West Michigan. He is a member of the Michigan Bankers Association's Economic Development Committee. He is past president of the Michigan Chapter of Robert Morris and Associates, Muskegon Civic Theatre and Muskegon Ambucs.
