First Marine RCO named. The Advanced Combat Optical Gunsight (Acog) from Trijicon has been named the Rifle Combat Optic (RCO) by the US Marine Corps. This first-ever distinction follows on the heels of a multi-year contract to the company in 2004, which will see the RCO mounted to the M16A2, M16A4 and M4A1 carbine. The TA31RCO will be a slightly modified version of the TA31F 4x Acog, 6000 of which the Marines already have in service. The new model features Trijicon's dual-illuminated, red chevron-shaped reticule and bullet drop compensator. The battery-free TA31RCO will also feature Trijicon's Bindon Aiming Concept, the use of which allows users to keep both eyes open during fast-moving Close Quarter Battle scenarios.
