First Europe, now Africa. (Insider Report).

On July 8th, African heads of state gathered in Durban, South Africa, to create the new African Union (AU), a pan-African organization modeled after the European Union and designed to achieve the same outcome. UN Secretary-General Kofi Annan, a native of Ghana, also attended the event. "To build a successful union in such conditions will require great stamina and iron political will, combined with readiness to accept a seemingly endless series of negotiations and compromises," Annan told the assembled dignitaries. For years, Annan has encouraged the United Nations and the European Union to chip away at the sovereignty of the nations of Europe. For decades, the public was assured that the EU (which started life as the Common Market) was only a free-trade organization. Now, the captive nations of Europe find themselves trapped in a bona fide emerging superstate, empowered by a single European currency and backed by an increasingly oppressive pan-European government complete with courts and lawmaking authority. At this very moment, a council is meeting to craft a new European constitution, and plans are in the works for a pan-European military as well. The EU has already begun dictating to member governments on a wide range of policies, including tax rates, educational standards, and even standards for parental discipline.

Now the new world orderlies have turned their attention on Africa, though with less subterfuge. The new AU is openly billed as a counterpart to the EU, and plans for a single African currency have already been announced. Also in the works are an African parliament, security council, and peacekeeping force. For most Africans, already enduring horrendous poverty and hopelessly corrupt dictatorial governments, the AU may worsen their present situation. But for the rest of the world, especially the nations of the Western Hemisphere -- whom the one-worlders can't wait to shoehorn into another regional superstate, as prelude to a global merger under the UN -- the African Union is but another ominous precedent.
