First Choice Holidays Mainstream Sector Deploys Frictionless SRM Software; Global sourcing organization standardises procurement processes and ensures contract compliance.

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. -- Frictionless(R) Commerce, a leading supplier relationship management (SRM (1) (Storage Resource Management) The management of the storage resources in an organization in order to avoid duplication of files and to determine space utilization across all servers. ) software provider, announced today that First Choice Holidays PLC (London: FCD FCD FC Dallas (soccer)
FCD Foundation for Child Development
FCD Floating Car Data (now generally superseded by FDV)
FCD Flood and Coastal Defence (UK)
FCD Flood Control District
), a leading international leisure travel company, has deployed Frictionless SRM software to standardise procurement processes and ensure contract compliance across its Mainstream Holidays Sector.

As part of a procurement transformation process, the Sector required an SRM application to support their efforts to ensure contract compliance, provide a structured tendering process and deliver savings. Frictionless was selected due to the product's breadth of functionality and company's proven track record in working with global organisations.

"Through Frictionless SRM, we are able to be a fully auditable and efficient Procurement department. By embedding our sourcing process into the software, we can effectively implement policies and mitigate risk," said Norman Turner, Procurement Director, for the Mainstream Holidays Sector.

All sourcing projects originate in Frictionless SRM, from initial planning, to RFP (Request For Proposal) A document that invites a vendor to submit a bid for hardware, software and/or services. It may provide a general or very detailed specification of the system.

and auction event execution, to contract generation and management. The application is the main reporting tool for the Procurement group, and is used to track savings. Through the software's XPress module, the Sector will be able to engage the business units by enabling non-Procurement users to initiate RFQ events, from specification to award, resulting in increased spend under management.

"We began rolling out this application throughout our mainstream business sector at the end of December and we are now averaging a new RFX event every week with various reverse auctions planned. The implementation has been a great success and as a result we are already delivering commercial and operational benefits," said Neil Aitken, Procurement Manager, First Choice Holidays.

"We are very pleased to provide First Choice's Mainstream Holidays Sector with a single system to manage their contracting and supply management processes. They understand that automated and standardised processes combined with compliance are key to sustained savings," said Tony Harris, Director of EMEA (Europe, Middle East, Africa) Refers to that region of the world. For example, one might see products packaged differently for the UK, EMEA and Asia Pacific markets.  Operations, Frictionless Commerce.
