First Annual Buoy 10 Brew Festival Celebrates Oregon's North Coast Fishing Heritage.

WHAT: A new event is brewing on Oregon's North Coast that will

importance to the economic livability of the North Coast
region. Located at the mouth of the Columbia River, the Buoy
10 fishery produces some of the Northwest's best catches of
Chinook salmon and tuna during its prime season in early
September. Local brewers will be on hand serving up their best
handcrafted beers and will be joined be a range of Northwest
boating and fishing vendors. Attendees to the festival will
also have the rare opportunity to purchase fresh catches
reeled in by local fisherman from the waters at Buoy 10.

WHEN: Friday -- Saturday, Sept. 2 - 3, 2005
          -- Friday: 4 p.m. - 9 p.m.

State Park, recently named one of the country's top 10
        campgrounds.

HISTORY:

Columbia River meets the Pacific Ocean, just 70 miles from
Portland. It is the oldest American settlement west of the
Rockies, and has a rich maritime history. Once referred to as
the "Canning Capital of the World," Astoria is still home to a
working waterfront as well as art galleries, restaurants,
shops, Victorian homes, community theater and museums, notably
the internationally acclaimed Columbia River Maritime Museum,
and nearby Ft. Clatsop where Lewis and Clark wintered in
        1805-6.

COST: Admission for the festival is $5 for adults 21 and over. A
free Buoy 10 Brew Fest beer mug is included with the price of
        admission.
