First American Railways' Common Stock Will Continue to be Listed On the Nasdaq SmallCap Market.


HOLLYWOOD, Fla.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--July 16, 1998--First American Railways Inc. (Nasdaq:FTRN FTRN Fair Trade Resource Network ), the entertainment and scenic rail company which operates the Florida Fun-Train, Thursday announced that its common stock will continue to be listed on the Nasdaq SmallCap Market via an exception from the net tangible assets/market capitalization/net income, minimum bid price and listing of additional shares requirements.

While First American First American may refer to:
  • First American (comics), A superhero from America's Best Comics
  • First American, a division of the now-defunction Bank of Credit and Commerce International.
 Railways Inc. failed to meet these requirements as of March 31, 1998, the company was granted a temporary exception from this standard subject to First American Railways meeting certain conditions. The exception will expire expire /ex·pire/ (ek-spi´er)

 on Aug. 3, 1998. In the event the company is deemed to have met the terms of the exception, its Common Stock will continue to be listed on the Nasdaq SmallCap Market. While the company will use its best efforts to meet these conditions, however, there can be no assurance that it will do so. If the company's securities should cease to be listed on the Nasdaq SmallCap Market, they may continue to be listed on the OTC-Bulletin Board. For the duration of the exception, the company's Nasdaq symbol will be FTRNC.
