"Our current agreement with LensCrafters expires early next year. ECPA and LensCrafters will not renew the contract because one of LensCrafters' divisions is actively marketing a competing managed vision care program," explained First American President, John A. Raycraft.

ECPA expects that this will not negatively impact network coverage or the company's ability to service its customers. Even without LensCrafters' participation, ECPA meets the standard of one provider within 15 miles of 90% of its customer base.

"Early in 1999, ECPA launched an aggressive provider recruitment program to expand independent provider representation, particularly dispensing dispensing
