Efidac 24 Chlorpheniramine is based on ALZA's OROS system which relies on the principle of osmosis to make drug administration precise and consistent. The tablet has an outer coating of active medication that is released immediately, providing fast relief. Then, water from the digestive tract is drawn through a semi-permeable, rate-controlling membrane by osmosis, dissolving the inner core of medication. This dissolved medication is released at a controlled rate through tiny, laser-drilled holes.

ALZA Corp. is a leading drug delivery systems company that develops, manufactures and markets a broad range of therapeutic systems that improve the medical and economic value of drugs. ALZA's therapeutic systems provide rate-controlled administration of medication for both human and veterinary applications.
