Firm falls victim to hackers as it comes under probe by state. (Law).


TREVOR Law Group The Trevor Law Group was a Beverly Hills law firm notable in California and nationally for their heavy-handed tort law abuse. In 2003, they wrongfully sent demand letters to thousands of small businesses in California offering not to sue them in exchange for "settlements" amounting , the Beverly Hills law firm under investigation by state officials, is conducting an inquiry of its own after a computer hacker posted false messages about the firm.

On Jan. 29 and Jan. 30, the Web site www.trevorlawgroup.com displayed a message "Trevor Law Group = TLG TLG Thesaurus Linguae Graecae (project, UC Irvine, California)
TLG The LEGO Group
TLG The Lone Gunmen
TLG The Lost Guys (Counter-Strike Clan)
TLG Technical Liaison Group
 = Trustworthy, Loyal and Generous." The message stated that the firm's attorneys were "regretful re·gret·ful

" about their recent actions and promised to donate $20,000 to the Boy Scouts of America's Los Angeles Area Council Founded in 1914,[1] the Los Angeles Area Council (LAAC) (#33) serves most of the City of Los Angeles as well as several other cities in the greater Los Angeles area. It is one of five Boy Scouts of America councils in Los Angeles County, California.  and $20,000 to the Los Angeles Area Food Bank.

The message also indicated they would provide pro bono Short for pro bono publico [Latin, For the public good]. The designation given to the free legal work done by an attorney for indigent clients and religious, charitable, and other nonprofit entities.  legal services to the businesses they have sued.

Turns out that none of it is true. Trevor Law Group partner Allan Hendrickson said the firm has hired outside investigators to find the identity of the hacker. The firm owns the domain name, but does not have a Web site, at www.trevorlawgroup.com.

"There's been attorneys on the other side who have personalized the case and pointed fingers, sent dirty e-mails and called and threatened us," he said. "There have even been death threats. So it's not really shocking at all."

Trevor Law Group has been under investigation by California Attorney General The California Attorney General is the State Attorney General of the government of the state of California in the USA. The officer's duty is to ensure that "the laws of the state are uniformly and adequately enforced" (California Constitution, Article V, Section 13.  Bill Lockyer and the State Bar of California for allegedly abusing the state's Business and Professions Code 17200, which protects consumers from unfair and illegal business practices. Trevor Law Group has sued more than 1,000 small restaurants in Southern California under state law 17200, claiming they violate health codes.
