New York Local Law 26/04 mandates that photoluminescent markings be installed in all exit stairwells of Class E commercial buildings over 75 feet tall to make emergency evacuation safer and easier. Building managers and owners must comply with the New York City Department of Building's final technical and performance standards for all installations of photoluminescent markings by July 1, 2006.
