Firm's redesign for Westchester gym tries to look natural.


DMR (Digital Media Receiver) See digital media hub.  Architects has been selected by The Gym for an interior and exterior renovation of a 44,000-s/f warehouse into a state-of-the-art fitness facility. Located in Armonk, New York Armonk is a census-designated place (CDP) located in the town of North Castle in Westchester County, New York. As of the 2000 census, the CDP population was 3,461.

Armonk is home to the headquarters of IBM.
, The Gym is scheduled to open in February 2007.

The dramatic space design by DMR for The Gym includes a translucent wall, which changes colors to complement the desired mood, and will feature the Gym's logo while marking the entrance and continuing along the interior resulting in an atmosphere unlike any conventional workout facility. Elements of nature such as water fountains, stones and bamboo are integrated details, which combine tranquility with state-of-the-art equipment. Amenities include free weights, training programs, sauna, circuit training, fitness training experts, a juice bar, massage and children's area.
