Finjan and Mobilitec partner to deliver comprehensive, best-of-breed security solution for mobile communications.

Finjan Software, a provider of proactive security and content management solutions, announced recently a strategic partnership with Mobilitec Inc., the global provider of OTA content delivery and management solutions for wireless carriers. The joint offering, integrating Mobilitec's carrier grade platform mPower with Finjan's Vital Security platform, will provide carriers with a best-of-breed solution for ensuring secure and reliable content delivery and download to mobile devices. In open service environments, content delivered from external sites will be automatically scanned by Finjan prior to download for malicious behavior to prevent damage, theft or abuse of mobile users' services or information.

With the wireless data market experiencing prolific growth, the need for enhanced security has become increasingly more important. Mobile applications impacted by malicious mobile code can compromise service, functionality, confidential information and allow unauthorized access. In some cases, the cellular device can be shut down and rendered inoperable.
