Flexfinish, an axially-compliant finishing tool for robotic and non-robotic finishing operations, is available from ATI (ATI Technologies Inc., Markham Ontario, http://ati.amd.com) A leading manufacturer of graphics chips and display adapters. Founded in 1985 by K. Y. Ho, Benny Lau and Lee Lau, ATI chips and boards are widely used by OEMs.  Industrial Automation. The low-speed, high-torque finishing tool has a "floating" motor and spindle spindle: see spinning.


A rotating shaft in a disk drive. In a fixed disk, the platters are attached to the spindle. In a removable disk, the spindle remains in the drive. Laptops use spindle designations to indicate the number of built-in drives.
