Already qualified by a number of telecom equipment companies, Finisar's recently acquired 40 Gb/s transponder provides an OC-768 compliant interface for use in systems such as core routers and SONET/SDH transmission equipment. Finisar's 40 Gb/s transponder has passed the stringent telecommunications qualification requirements outlined by Telcordia in GR-468-CORE and is currently shipping in production. The Finisar 8 Gb/s transceiver is compatible with the emerging optical standards within the ANSI/INCITS T11 committee.
