(Storage Area Network) Analysis and Test

Finisar Corporation (Nasdaq:FNSR), a technology leader in gigabit fiber optic solutions for high-speed data and telecommunication networks, announced today iSCSI (Internet Small Computer Systems Interface) protocol support in Shomiti Systems Surveyor 4.0 Monitoring and Analysis software console. Shomiti Systems is a recently acquired subsidiary of Finisar. Shomiti's Surveyor 4.0 is part of Finisar's products that provide iSCSI SAN Analysis and Test. GTX-THG is the first of many iSCSI product offerings planned by Finisar and Shomiti. GTX-THG is currently in Beta and is scheduled for First Customer Shipment in July 2001. Finisar will demo the GTX-THG product this week at the SAN 2001 Conference and Exhibition in San Jose.

As the current market leader in SAN protocol analysis for 1 and 2 Gb Fibre Channel and 2.5 Gb InfiniBand, Finisar is leveraging its technology and engineering expertise in Fibre Channel and InfiniBand to expand its leadership role into iSCSI. The iSCSI Protocol is part of an industry initiative to create alternatives to Fibre Channel. iSCSI transmits SCSI-based storage traffic over IP (Internet Protocol See Internet and TCP/IP.

). Finisar first announced its intentions to support iSCSI in May 2001 at the Networld+Interop event in Las Vegas.

Shomiti's Surveyor 4.0 will introduce complete and accurate decodes of the current iSCSI protocol draft standard. Finisar plans to extend iSCSI support into its market and technology leading line of GTX GTX Gore-Tex

GTX Grand Tourisme Extra
protocol analyzers, traffic generators, SANmetrics and SAN analysis software products in the third and fourth calendar quarters of 2001.

"Finisar has earned a reputation and market leading position for delivering a comprehensive line of feature rich, accurate, detailed and high-performance solutions for Fibre Channel and InfiniBand," said Bill Shaw, President and CEO (1) (Chief Executive Officer) The highest individual in command of an organization.
